Honeybush grows in the Western and Eastern Cape Provinces of South Africa. This tea gets its name from its yellow flowers that smell like honey and are often present during harvesting time although, it is the leaves that are used to produce the tea. Honeybush offers a smooth, full-bodied cup without caffeine.
|tasting notes||Bright, red-gold infusion with a sweet taste and aroma reminiscent of dark berries and wildflowers|
HONEYBUSH (scientific name Cyclopia intermedia) grows only in a small area in the southwest of South Africa. The most desirable components for the tea are the leaves and flowers. It shares many similarities with Rooibos. The leaves of the bush are harvested, bruised, and left in the sun to oxidize. The resulting product is then boiled or steeped like tea to make a beverage that is enjoyed both hot and cold.
